Approximately 68 Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden (LGBG) workers have overwhelmingly voted to join the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM). LGBG workers help enrich the community by maintaining and growing the living collections through horticultural expertise, hosting concerts, seasonal events, and educational children’s activities.
“LGBG employees are a beloved and important part of the RVA community,” said IAM International Representative Bridget Fitzgerald, lead organizer on the campaign. “I could not be more proud of these workers for standing together and uniting for what they deserve. I also want to thank IAM District 2020 and Local 10 Business Representative Charles Mann for his local community and labor allies. This is a victory for them, their families, and all of Richmond.”
